SANBS says 'dire blood shortage in KZN'
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
South African National Blood Service says KwaZulu-Natal only has 24 hours' worth of stock left.
Spokesperson, Sifiso Khoza says their reserves have been under severe pressure since the beginning of the week.
He says they risk running out completely.
"We need to have five days stock every single day to keep us going. We are in a very dire situation - so this is an appeal to everyone who meets the minimum requirement to please come forward and donate," he said.

"So, I'm talking to donors who are active, any potential donor and any other donor who has donated but hasn't come forward in the last 66 days or so," Khoza said.
