Black Friday: South Africans cannot afford to overspend - analyst
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
An economist says it's not the best financial times for South Africans to overspend.
This comes as today marks Black Friday - marking the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.
These are the words of Economist, Dawie Roodt as thousands flock to various malls all over the province in the hopes of getting a good deal.

Roodt says to have a successful Black Friday, shoppers need to stick to their budget.
"It may eventually lead to you getting into deep financial trouble - and as a result, for the next year you will be paying off something you didn't need. It's extremely important for everybody before you go to the store to realise that you have a budget and to stay within your budget," he said.
