Biker killed in Cato Ridge N3 accident
A female biker has been killed on the N3 highway in Cato Ridge.
It's understood the woman who had been travelling towards Margate lost control of her bike near the Oasis stop.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says she veered off the road and crashed into a barrier before being flung onto the opposite carriageway struck a road side barrier and was flung off her motorbike.
"Tragically, when we arrived she had died due to the very extensive injuries that she had sustained. We ask people now to be very careful in that area and to use patience to get past this until this area is cleared up," he said.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate's Zinhle Mngomezulu is also urging motorists to approach the area with extreme caution.
"So now the the fast lane is obstructed and we have got Pinetown RTI who is busy controlling traffic in that area. We urge motorists to be vigilant there,'' she said.
