I'm not going anywhere: Berning Ntlemeza
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
The stand-off between the Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula and the axed Hawks boss, Burning Ntlemeza is expected to reach boiling point today.
It was announced last week that Yolisa Matakata was due to take office at the investigative unit from today, but Ntlemeza told the media he isn't going anywhere.
The High Court in Pretoria last week agreed with an earlier finding that Ntelemeza's appointment was irregular and unlawful resulting in his removal and Matakata's appointment.
But according to reports over Easter, Ntlemeza feels that only parliament has the authority to remove him and he is adamant to fight the court's decision and that he will remain in office until then.

Minister Mbalula on the other hand remains certain that the decision was made by the court and that he is merely enforcing that.
"We must respect the rule of law. The rule of law must be respected by General Ntlemeza and everybody. I am only implementing what the law states," he said.
Mbalula adds that Ntlemeza must respect the authority of the law.
"He says he will be reporting for duty - but we will see about that. We've got work to do," he said.
