'Battle lines drawn' over AmaZulu crown: Buthelezi
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
AmaZulu Traditional Prime Minister Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi has denied claims that he is stoking conflict among members of the royal family.
This follows claims that he was the one who chose King Misuzulu kaZwelithini as the successor to the late King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.
He says King Misuzulu was named as the heir to the throne by means of the last will and testament of the Regent Queen Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu.
Addressing the media on Thursday in KwaNongoma north of KZN, he said battle lines have been drawn in the family about who should succeed the late King Goodwill Zwelithini.

This after members of the royal family, who support Prince Simakade Zulu as successor, wrote a letter to KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala.
"It appears that battle lines in this conflict have been drawn and as far as I am concerned, we felt that the nation should be informed, so they must judge for themselves who is right and who is wrong in this conflict.
"The matter is of such serious nature that had we not achieved this stage in our country of constitutional development, it is clear where would be a war now."
