The Cooperative Governance Department says it's working with KZN municipalities and the Transport and Education Departments to resolve all outstanding infrastructure issues ahead of the local government elections.

KZN has the highest number of voting stations of all the provinces in the country.
Speaking at a briefing in Durban, MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube said they are trying to make sure all stations are easily accessible and have basic services for the August polls.
''For the election period, 711 voting stations will be provided with water where there is no access to water, 103 voting stations will be furnished with sanitation, more than 692 voting stations will be equipped with temporary lighting and 339 voting stations require improvement with respect to road access,'' he said.
