KZN matriculants confess to being in possession of maths paper leak
Updated | By Andrew Robertson
The Department of Basic Education has asked the Hawks to help it get to the bottom yesterday's leak of Maths Paper 2.
This as it fears the leak was more widespread than it had thought.
Yesterday, the department said some Grade 12 learners in Gauteng and Limpopo had access to the question paper - hours before they sat for the exam.
Spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga says it might have spread further than that.

"The Department of Basic Education continues to receive more information from candidates that are confirming that they had access to the question paper that was written.
" Initially, we thought that it was just Gauteng and Limpopo but now are receiving information from KZN and parts of Western Cape and Mpumalanga."
"This means that the paper could have gone further than we initially thought but the investigation is continuing," he added.
It's believed that the paper was shared via the messaging app, WhatsApp.
Authorities are trying to find the source of the leak.
