Ballito mom accused of drowning daughter (4) to remain behind bars

A Ballito woman accused of drowning her four-year-old daughter will remain behind bars while plea negotiations take place.
Police say the child, whose hands were tied with a tape, was declared dead on the scene.
The 45-year-old made a second appearance in the KwaDukuza Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Police who arrested the woman at her home a week ago say she confessed to drowning her child in a bucket of water, claiming the little girl was being difficult and troubling her.
"The matter was remanded to the 12th of May 2022 for possible plea negotiations. She remains in custody," says NPA KZN spokesperson Natasha Kara.
