Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Twenty people including 19 school pupils have been hurt after a bakkie overturned on a link road from the N2 near Mtwalume north of Port Shepstone.

The bakkie had been transporting the children aged between six and 17-years to school on the south coast when it crashed at about 7:30 this morning.
KZN Emergency Medical Services' Robert Mckenzie says the driver was also injured in the accident.

"There's one adult involved in the crash. He was entrapped following the collision and the jaws of life had to be used to free him from the wrecked bakkie.
"The remaining 19 children had sustained injuries which ranged from minor to serious and they were treated at the scene. They have been transported to hospitals in Port Shepstone, Scottburgh and Amanzimtoti," he said.

Meanwhile a fight has broken out following a crash along Bullion Boulevard.
A car and a bakkie collided at an intersection at about 7am. Netcare911's Chris Botha says medics were treating the driver of the car when a third party arrived.
Botha says the man who arrived at the scene was badly hurt in the fight.
"An argument which quite a severe brawl where the police and paramedics had to pull the people apart. Medics actually had to treat him and transport him to where he's receiving further care," he said.
