A northern KwaZulu-Natal farmer accused of the murder of a teenage farm worker, Qiniso Dlamini, will remain behind bars for another week.
Garth Simpson made his second appearance at the Glencoe Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
Simpson is applying for bail.
"Simpson is charged with murder, relating to the death of 17-year-old Qiniso Dlamini, who was shot last week," says the National Prosecuting Authority’s KZN spokesperson Natasha Kara.
"Simpson is also charged with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
"The matter was remanded to 14 October 2021 for continuation of the bail application.”
It's alleged the farmer shot the Grade 11 pupil while he was herding his family cattle that had made its way onto Simpson's farm.
Dlamini died at the scene.
