The family of a murdered Umlazi mother says her young son spent the night next to her body before she was found.
Ayanda Ngcobo, 24, was found dead at her boyfriend's home on Monday morning.
Ngcobo was a journalism student at Rosebank College.

Her aunt, Nkosingiphile Dlamini says she was at work when she got a frantic call from the boyfriend's family.
She says at first she thought her niece had fallen ill.
A distraught Dlamini says she asked Ngcobo's seven-year-old son where he slept the night before.
Police say there were visible signs of assault on the body. A case of murder has been opened and no arrests have been made.
Close friend and member of non-profit organisation Township Academy, Phumlani Ntetha says justice needs to prevail.
The NPO plans to hold a memorial service for Dlamini soon.
