World Autism Month is being observed globally this April - and Action in Autism says it wants the quality of life for people with Autism to be improved.

Chairperson, Liza Aziz says it's been tough with the pandemic.

"It has had such a dire impact on our people having to be in confined spaces or having single moms bringing them up in confined spaces", she said.

"Also not being in nature and walking around but instead wearing a mask... so it has had a huge impact on our people", Aziz said.

This year it's hoped more people will respect, acknowledge and accept neurological and communication differences.

Action in Autism says to understand this better they are encouraging us to stay silent for two hours and only use alternative means of communication such as signs, gestures or drawing next Saturday from 10am to 12pm.
