Authorities probe deadly Hammarsdale crash
KZN authorities are investigating the cause of a deadly crash on the N3 near Hammarsdale last night.
One man was killed after being thrown from the vehicle he'd been travelling in just before 7pm.
Another person from the same vehicle was treated for serious injuries.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says the other man was transported to hospital.
"The vehicle was travelling towards Pietermaritzburg when they veered off the road and down a very steep embankment and ended up in the westbound carriageway towards Pinetown.
''There were two males in the motor vehicle, tragically one was ejected and died on scene due to the very severe injuries that he had sustained. The other man was in a serious condition, he was treated on scene and transported to a hospital in Chatsworth for further care," he said.
