Authorities probe deadly crashes over weekend

Investigations are under way following deadly crashes involving pedestrians
Three of them were killed in the separate collisions in Osizweni in Newcastle, this past weekend.
According to reports from one scene, two people died while they were trying to move a dead cow off the road.
Community members were trying to clear the route when two of them were hit by a car.

"One of the paramedics has just completed at the scene where sadly, one person has sustained fatal injuries. On his way back to base, he came across a scene where a cow was knocked by a vehicle."
"At this scene, a passing vehicle knocked through the community members. The police are looking at the circumstances surrounding both these incidents."
KZN EMS spokesperson, Robert Mckenzie adds that in a separate incident, two pedestrians were knocked down when two cars collided in the Maritzburg CBD. They both succumbed to their injuries - the drivers weren’t badly hurt.
