Authorities investigating SA pilot's death in plane crash
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Botswana authorities are investigating following the death of a South African pilot whose light aircraft crashed at the Matsieng Air Strip in Gaborone on Saturday evening.

In a statement, the Matsieng Flying Club confirmed the incident - saying the pilot was reportedly involved in a domestic dispute earlier that afternoon.
After a number of low level fly pasts, the statement says, members of the club became suspicious. Thereafter the airplane crashed.
"Matsieng Flying Club members sensed that the pilot might have had an ulterior motive at the time and ordered an immediate evacuation of the club premises by the approximately fifty attendees. The final extreme low level run by the aircraft along runway 36 resulted in an impact with the Matsieng Flying Club facility at ground level," the statement said.
The facility, the ATC tower and 13 parked vehicles were destroyed in the crash and subsequent fire. The Department of International Relations are yet to comment on the matter.
