Attacks on south KZN councillors 'worrying'
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
A southern KZN municipality says residents are shocked after a double attack on one its councillors.

In the latest incident, Nancy Njili, a councillor in the Ubuhlebezwe Local Municipality, and her family managed to escape after their home was set alight this week.
They watched as the flames engulfed the entire property. The municipality's Mlungisi Dladla says no one was hurt. He says the Ward 12 councillor was also targeted in June.
"There was a shooting at councillor Njili's house. A single bullet was fired through the window - which ended up hitting the wall," he said.
Police are still searching for the culprits. Dladla says Njili is well-liked in the local community.
"Councillor Njili is a very friendly councillor, she works well with other councillors including the community. As the municipality, we were surprised that an incident of this nature would occur to such a councillor," Dladla said.
