ATM wants govt to reconsider 'alarming' Post Office retrenchments
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The African Transformation Movement has called on the
government to reconsider a decision to retrench about 6000 SA Post Office
employees.

This week, creditors approved the national postal service's business rescue plan, which will see it receiving a R3.8 billion bailout from the government.
The plan includes cutting thousands of jobs and closing more than 400 branches.
The ATM's Zama Ntshona has condemned the decision.
"It is disheartening to witness the toll that economic decisions are taking on the livelihoods of hard- working individuals. The post office's work force is no exception. The practical human effects of these retrenchments are profound and alarming."
