eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede says gospel sensation Sfiso Ncwane's way of giving back should be followed by other artists.
Gumede made the opening speech at Ncwane's funeral service at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban yesterday.
37-year-old Ncwane died in Johannesburg on Monday after suffering from kidney failure. Gumede said other artists should follow his lead.
"Ncwane as a community worker who assisted people from his rural village," she said.
"He helped the needy with food, clothes and other things," Gumede said.
"He uplifted his community using the little he had," she said.
