Arrests made in community protests near King Dinuzulu Hospital
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
29 people have been arrested outside the King Dinuzulu Hospital after violent protests broke out this morning.

It is understood that about 100 residents from a nearby informal settlement descended on the Durban hospital and blockaded the road with burning tyres.
Police say an ambulance was damaged and a municipal bus was set alight.
KZN MEC of Health, Sibongiseni Dhlomo says they are assessing the damage inside the hospital.

Dhlomo says a tuck shop is among the property damaged.
"Their demand is that the company that is providing a service at the clinic - should employ them because they reside at Ward 25. There is no excuse for any person to raise issues in an unruly and violent manner the way that they did," Dhlomo said
