Arrests after dead man's bank account drained of R36m
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The Hawks say they are working to arrest more suspects linked to the theft of R36 million from the bank account of a car crash victim.
Thirteen people were rounded up this week for their alleged involvement.
They were taken into custody in different provinces, including KwaZulu-Natal.
The Hawk's Matimba Maluleke says they believe the mastermind to be 29-year-old FNB employee Thabiso Metenda.

Maluleke says Metenda, who is based in Limpopo, allegedly gained access to the victim's profile and proceeded to empty the bank account.
The victim was a foreign businessman who lived in South Africa.
He died in a car accident more than a year ago.
"Among the arrested suspects is a police official stationed at SAPS Makhado. The takedown operation is still continuing."
