Arrest made in Cornubia Dam murder

A man has been arrested following the murder of an elderly man - north of Durban at the weekend.

The victim's body was recovered from the Cornubia dam on Saturday morning.
Police believe the suspect killed the 68-year-old before dumping his body.
SAPS spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says a group of boys who had been cutting sugarcane spotted the body in the dam.
"When the body was found by the Durban Search and Rescue, it was discovered that the body had a stab wound through the head. A case of murder was opened at Verulam. The motive for the killing of the same person is not known at the moment but is subject to investigation," Mbhele said.
The suspect is due in court today.
