Armed gang hits Gateway jewellery store
Police in KwaZulu-Natal are hunting for a gang of at least five armed robbers.
The gang hit a jewellery store at Gateway Theatre of Shopping mall in Umhlanga on Sunday morning.
Police say the men used a hammer to break open the glass cases and fled with watches and expensive bags.
Despite earlier reports to the contrary, police say no shots were fired and nobody was injured.
The gang escaped near the Truworths entry and fled in a silver Mercedes.
The value of the stolen items is not yet known.
