Durban Central police are appealing for help in solving a rape and robbery case that occurred in Umhlanga, north of Durban.
Officers from the Sexual Offences Unit have released an identikit of a person, they believe will be key in solving the case. They say the incident happened when a 21-year-old woman was walking along Ridge Road returning from her work in April.
Police say she had apparently used the foot path off Ridge Road that was a shortcut which passes through a little bushy area to the taxi rank.
Officers say an unknown man and an accomplice appeared from behind her, attacked and raped her.
They say her cellphone and cash were also taken by the suspects.
