“Building on Mandela’s legacy, I will explore the need to fight the global pandemic of inequality & how we must rethink our economies & societies,” says Guterres.

The world commemorates the birthday of former president Nelson Mandela every year on 18 July, when humanity is called upon to reach out to those that are less fortunate and in need of assistance.

This will also be the first year since the first Mandela Day, that the lecture will be held virtually.

The lecture comes at a time where the world battles the deadly coronavirus.
