Updated | By Lauren Beukes
It's been revealed another alleged instigator of the July unrest was arrested on Tuesday.
Head of the Hawks Godfery Lebeya testified at the Human Rights Commission's hearings into the violence and looting on Wednesday.
Hawks registered 24 matters related to the instigation of the unrest.
"Within 48-hours, the individual will also be charged which means that the number will change to eight. The rest of the matters I am talking about which are twelve, are at an inquiry stage and some of them are already in an advanced stage. Some of them there is still a lot of work that needs to be done."
In the days and weeks following the riots, several individuals were taken into custody for their alleged role in the unrest.
They include former Ukhozi FM presenter Ngizwe Mchunu and Fees Must Fall activist, Bonginkosi Khanyile.
They've both been released on bail and their cases continue.
