Another protest flares up in Cato Manor
Updated | By Portia Cele
Durban Metro Police have had to put out pockets of fire on two major routes in Durban's Cato Manor area this morning.
Protesters blocked Jan Smuts Highway and Bellair Road with trees, rocks and debris.
They then set tyres - strewn across the roads - alight.
For the second time in two weeks, police are having to move in - to quell the demonstrations. Durban Metro spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersad says they're waiting for more assistance.
"Durban Metro Police is on scene. Public order policing and Durban Metro is awaiting the arrival of specialised equipment and for Durban Solid Waste to arrive and remove all this debris and open the roadway."
