Police union SAPU has appealed to members of the public to report police killings.
The union’s reacting to the murder of another police officer in KZN. 38-year-old Nokwanda Phakhathi was gunned down at Nsuze on the north coast on Friday.
She died on the scene.
It’s understood two officers responded to a robbery in progress when the suspects opened fire on them.
SAPU spokesperson Oscar Skommere says police killings are getting out of control.
"There seems a societal perception of police when an officer is killed you do not hear people crying or making noise about it", he said.
"So we are calling on our citizens to be of assistance moving forward",Skommere said.
It’s National SAPS Commemoration Day, today.
Meanwhile, the manhunt for the suspects that fled the scene after the shootout in Nsuze is continuing.
