Another child in hospital after KZN baboon attack
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
A second child has been hospitalised at the Edendale Hospital in Pietermaritzburg after a baboon attacked her and her six year old cousin on Friday.
The 10-year-old girl was initially taken to a clinic, however staff felt she needed to be transferred to the hospital due to her severe injuries.
Seluleko Xaba's mother says her heart cries to see her daugher in pain.
"She's not well. She complains of pain, she is crying and is afraid of the baboons. She told us that there was something that touched her at night while she was sleeping," she said.
This comes after a six-year-old boy was attacked by a baboon on a farm near Richmond last week.
The office of the KZN Premier will be approaching the South African Human Rights Commission to investigate the alleged violation of human rights.
The boy remains in a critical condition in hospital.
