Another abandoned newborn baby found in KZN

A newborn baby has been rushed to hospital after being found abandoned in a pile of rubbish on the side of a road in Chatsworth, south of Durban.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst says when paramedics arrived on the scene in Burlington Heights
on Tuesday morning, they found the one-day-old baby boy with his placenta still attached.

Herbst says the baby was struggling to breathe.
"The baby was completely covered in ants, had severe dehydration and battling to breathe. The child was placed in a Netcare 911 ambulance where he was treated.
"Once stabilised the baby was transported to a hospital for further assessment," says Herbst.
