ANCYL seeks to 'close the chapter' on Kathrada memorial

The ANC Youth League in KZN says it wants to settle matters following the recent raucous memorial service held in Durban for struggle stalwart, Ahmed Kathrada.
Listen to the full bulletin below.
The youth league had been given until this weekend by the Active Citizens Movement, who organised the memorial, to make a public apology for disrupting the event.
This weekend, the ACM said it is going ahead with contempt of court proceedings against the youth league.
The Durban High Court had allowed youth league members to attend on condition they behaved.
The league's Thanduxolo Sabelo says their lawyers have sent a letter to the ACM asking for a meeting.
"At the moment, we have not received any responses from the Active Citizen Movement. We've taken a decision that we will now put this matter behind us. If they decide to pursue this matter, they must go to court. We will not be sidetracked from the programme we are currently on. To us, this matter is closed," he said.
The ACM's Yashica Padia has confirmed they've received the youth league's letter.
"We are still in consultation because we have just received the letter - our lawyer will discuss it with us," she said.
