A congress to elect the league's new leadership is currently underway in Gauteng.
The congress was nearly delayed yesterday after members in the North West tried to obtain a court interdict claiming some delegates were excluded.
League member Thandeka Phakathi says many want a fresh outlook this is why they are backing Richards Bay businesswoman, Zibu Mthiyane.
''They should understand that the struggle right now is in the passion of women and the economy freedom in our life time.
''It's not all about the BEE code. What we are saying is this is an investment that will benefit our children and their education,'' she said.
