The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal will unveil its new premier candidate on Monday.
This follows the resignation of Sihle Zikalala on Friday, who served as the province's eighth premier since 2019.
Zikalala was also the ANC's provincial chairperson since 2015 but suffered a defeat during the ANC's elective conference last month.

The party in KZN says it's been holding interviews for the top job this weekend, with the names of three candidates submitted for consideration by the provincial executive committee and national officials.
They are Finance MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube, Amanda Bani, and Mbali Fraizer.
KZN's new premier will be announced at a media briefing at the ANC's provincial headquarters at 10am.
