The party suspended the adaptation of credentials late last night.

This morning's session is expected to get underway at 9am.

Outgoing chairperson, Baleka Mbete says officials are still cleaning up the delegates' credentials.

The process was due to take place after President Jacob Zuma's address.

Meanwhile, Zuma said during his address in Nasrec, south of Johannesburg that he does not bear a grudge against party members who asked him to step down.

"Not a long time ago, comrades felt I should be talked to to step down. I want to say here to you all, comrades, that I bear no grudge. You are my comrades, you were expressing your views and you must know, many of you will be my leaders. Many of you will be in the same place, know that I will work with you, as I did before," he said.

Mbete is no longer in pursuit of the ANC presidency.

She says she will officially back Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa for the party's top job.

Mbete told reporters late last night that she did not have time to sit down with Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma to discuss various issues.

However, she said Ramaphosa's campaign had a more appealing, broader outlook for the future.
