ANC mum as 30-day period to step aside expires
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
The African National Congress (ANC) has remained mum on the fate of its corruption accused officials whose 30-day period to step aside has expired.

The party's NEC gave members who are facing criminal charges a month to step aside from their positions within the party or government - or face suspension.
These include ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule, and former eThekwini mayor and current MPL, Zandile Gumede.
Chris Pappas of the DA in KZN says there are at least 13 people in the ANC in KZN who've been charged with fraud and corruption.
"While we defend the right to be innocent until proven guilty, we believe that members who are implicated in criminal activity should be suspended from their positions.
"This is especially important if those members represent government institutions such as our Legislature, municipal council or a government office.
"Our biggest concern is that the internal collapse if the ANC is reckoning havoc on the functioning of government and bringing important institutions into disrepute."
