ANC KZN stresses for Mike Mabuyakhulu's return
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
The African National Congress (ANC) in KZN says the National Executive Committee needs to urgently provide guidelines on action to take against members facing criminal allegations.

"If the primary objective of stepping aside, is that people must resign from responsibilities that they occupy in government and the legislature that is precisely what we want the national officials to the ANC to clearly articulate, so that we can have a common interpretation," says ANC provincial secretary Mdumiseni Ntuli.
Ntuli on Tuesday delivered the outcomes of the PEC's four-day meeting.

He's stressed the party in KZN wants Mike Mabuyakhulu to be allowed to resume to his duties as the party's Provincial Deputy Chairperson. Mabuyakhulu was cleared to return to his position last week by the integrity commission.
This is despite the ANC's standing that any member who faces serious allegations or is criminally charged, must step aside.
Mabuyakhulu faces charges of corruption, fraud, and money laundering related to R28 million paid by the provincial government in 2012 for a jazz festival that didn't happen.
