ANC KZN leaders to visit Inchanga following violence
Leadership of the ANC in Kwazulu-Natal will be visiting Inchanga, west of Durban later this afternoon - following violence in the area.
Two people have been killed in the past 24-hours.
South African Communist Party (SACP) member Nontsikelelo Blose was gunned-down execution-style on Sunday evening.
Another murder - believed to be a revenge attack - occurred on Monday.
The volatile situation forced the ANC eThekwini regional leadership to postpone a media briefing scheduled for this morning - ahead of the party's inaugural council meeting in Durban, tomorrow.
ANC Regional Executive Committee member Nkosenhle Madlala says the party is unsure of the details surrounding the killings.
"There has been some violence in Ward 4. We are not sure as to what happened, and what led to whatever has happened there. The leadership is going there to talk to the parties involved. And hopefully by the end of the day today - or tomorrow - there will be a statement to the defense.
Tensions grew in the area earlier this year, following the murder of 38-year-old Bongani Hlatshwayo, and 69-year-old Phillip Dlamini.
The two were killed during an event organised by the South African Communist Party at the Kandokweni Sports Ground, in January.
