The committee will be led by party provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo as Coordinator. He spoke at a press briefing in Durban on Tuesday on the outcomes of the party's Provincial Executive Committee meeting.

"It is unfair to vote in a ward where the voter is not registered. The ANC has taken a decision to deal decisively with buying of councillors and online cheating by registered residents. It's a tactic used by the IFP in its bid to win by-elections and ultimately causes fraud in the election process."

"Members who will be called periodically to the provincial office are Comrade Bheki Sibiya as Election Manager, Cde Lindo Dladla as Provincial Election Officer and Cde Buhle Ndlovu as Provincial Election Administrator."

"In addition, Cde Super Zuma, Cde Ravi Pillay, Cde Cyril Xaba and Cde John Jeffrey have been appointed to augment the work of this provincial elections team as PLC (Party Liaison Committee) members to the Independent Electoral Commission."

On the 51st National ANC Conference set to take place from the 16th to the 20th of December, Mtolo has called on attending delegates to be mindful of their conduct during the gathering.

"We must not behave as if at the national conference will be the end of life. We call upon all genuine, loyal and committed members of the ANC and all our structures that their conduct must display a high level of loyalty to the ANC and the people of South Africa."
