ANC deputy secretary general, Jessie Duarte says the party hopes to have a new president by morning, despite several delays at the National Elective Conference.

Party delegates have gathered at Nasrec, south of Johannesburg for the ANC's 54th national conference.
Duarte says delegates have now managed to adopt credentials.
She says processes will now resume, adding that voting by 4,700 delegates could take some time.
Delegates will vote in rounds of 200.
Duarte says they are still in a closed session, where the rules of the conference are being adopted first.
Changes to the ANC constitution are also being debated behind closed doors.
Nominations for the party's top six positions will then be put forward during an open session.
Duarte is hopeful voting for the party's new leadership will get underway this afternoon.
She says the plan is for the conference to wrap up on Wednesday, as scheduled.
