This follows the recent killings of ANC branch secretary Thulani Shusha and ANC member Qiniso Nkomo, who were gunned down in Umlazi, south of Durban, on Saturday.

It's believed the two men and other members had just left a branch meeting when four armed men opened fire on them along Bakers Road.

The 51 and 37-year-old men were declared dead on the scene.

The others managed to flee injury-free.

"There is nothing where you can say the person who shot them because there was a fight or because there was any other incident or altercation. They were just shot. All of them were members of the BEC (Branch Executive Committee) of the ANC,” says Bheki Ntuli, who is the deputy convener of the ANC in the eThekwini region.

"Even those who survived and were able to run away were also members of the BEC. At this juncture on the face value of it, it directly appears as if there's somebody who has got a mission to eliminate leaders of the ANC in the eThekwini region.

"It is a well planned, well-orchestrated manner the way in which they are all being assassinated."
