ANC eThekwini branches demand reinstatement of Magashule
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Some African National Congress (ANC) branches in eThekwini have thrown their weight behind Ace Magashule, issuing an ultimatum to the national executive committee (NEC).

It's set to wrap up crucial talks over a range of issues, including its step-aside resolution and its response to those who defy it.
At a media briefing in Durban on Sunday, some local branches of the ANC called for the Secretary-General Ace Magashule - who was suspended recently as a party official - to be reinstated.
Councillor, Ntando Khuzwayo believes the step-aside rule isn't being implemented correctly.

He feels that some members are being targeted and says if they don't receive a positive response from the NEC, they'll push for an early conference.
"The NEC cannot willingly suspend or amend conference resolutions to suit its internal fights. The resolution says you must only suspend those who fail to give an explanation or voluntary step down and for that to happen, you must be some organisational process that needs to be followed."
"In this instance, they are only taking another ANC member through the media and there was no process that was followed, which includes consulting structures."
