ANC in deep trouble: Nzimande

South African Communist Party (SACP) General Secretary, Blade Nzimande, did not mince his words while addressing the Cosatu 6th central committee meeting.

He decried the state of the ANC,  laying the fault squarely at the foot of the Gupta family and party leadership for allowing state capture.

He says no one can celebrate the current state of the ANC.

Nzimande says workers must step in to assist.

"The ANC is in deep trouble. There is an internal stalemate in the National Executive Committee. These comrades can't provide leadership to themselves nor to the alliance as a whole," says Nzimande.

Nzimande says there is an open faction in the ANC which does as it pleases.

"Nobody can actually deal with it. We have to confront that. And don't tell us that we can't talk about the ANC. We will talk about the ANC, because it is our movement. We can't celebrate the state that the ANC is in, because this country needs an ANC," says Nzimande.

"It is in your hands as the workers of this country, that you must do that to help our movement."
