ANC confident of votes despite service delivery protests
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The ANC believes just because people protest against the ruling party over service delivery it doesn't mean they don't or won't vote ANC.
The party is hosting a series of briefings to outline progress made and challenges encountered during the current term of government as well as over 15 years of local government.
The first session today was addressed by the ANC's Zizi Kodwa who says most of the protests are not about the lack of service delivery but the quality of services.
"For example in one area in Nelson Mandela Bay, people would no longer protest about RDP houses. They have RDP houses. They would protest about the fact that the tap is outside but they want it inside. It's not about we are unhappy, there are no services, we do have services.
"They've got infrastructure, they've got roads - it's very difficult to cover and there has to be a balance. There is still a majority that doesn't even have that tap outside," he said.
