ANC concludes 'top seven' nomination list, voting on Sunday
The final ballot for the leadership election at the ANC's national conference was finally concluded in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The nomination process dragged into Sunday morning due to various delays and disruptions at the party's national conference at Nasrec, south of Johannesburg.
Incumbent Cyril Ramaphosa will go head to head with former health minister Zweli Mkhize for party president after NEC member Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma declined a nomination from the floor.
David Mabuza also declined a nomination when his name was raised from the floor to continue in his current position.
This leaves favourite Paul Mashatile, as well as Ronald Lamola and Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane, as the names on the ballot for deputy president.
Delegates will have to choose between Gwede Mantashe, Limpopo Premier Stan Mathabatha and David Masondo for the position of national chairperson.

Earlier the conference amended the party's constitution to allow for an additional leadership position with the introduction of a first and second deputy secretary-general.
Former Gauteng premier Nomvula Mokonyane is the hot favourite when she goes up against MP Tina Joemat-Pettersson, who was nominated from the floor by the Northern Cape delegation.
Ronalda Nalumango and Maropene Ramokgopa were nominated for the position of second deputy secretary-general.
The position of treasurer-general will be contested by Gwen Ramokgopa, Pule Mabe, Bejani Chauke and Mzwandile Masina.
