The ANC adjourned its national conference at Nasrec in Johannesburg on Tuesday.
This is the first time that the party’s national conference has adjourned without the adoption of the various commission reports.
Speaking to the media during the last plenary session, newly elected secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said the conference will reconvene in January.
“The conference will be adjourned to Thursday 5 January 2023. It will be convened in hybrid form.”

The ANC conference has not been without controversy. On the first day of the five-day conference, President Cyril Ramaphosa was heckled by members of his party when he tried to deliver the party's political report.
The actions compelled party chairperson Gwede Mantashe to call for security backup.
But he was stopped in his tracks by NEC member Bheki Cele while KZN chairperson Siboniso Duma intervened.
A new top seven has since been elected by the over 4000 delegates, with President Ramaphosa handed a second term as party leader.
