ANC accepts commission of inquiry into state capture
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The ANC says they support the establishment of a judicial commission of inquiry to further probe allegations of state capture.
The setting-up of the commission is one of the remedial actions in the state capture report.
Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe says they view the contents of the report in a serious light.

"The ANC is of the view that, however, the observations and remedial actions in the state of capture report are inconclusive and contains no binding findings referring to guilt of any party. The report of the Public Protector rather calls for the establishment of a commission of inquiry into the allegation of improper relations and involvement of private interest and running of the affairs of the state," he said.
The briefing follows the party's national working committee meeting, yesterday.
Mantashe further stated that calls for President Jacob Zuma to step down, using the report as a basis are premature and unfounded.
