AMCU members march in Durban against job cuts

Workers have been making their way through the streets of Durban - calling for government to help put an end to mass job losses.

They also want workers to be treated better.

Speaking to Newswatch, one worker said he's getting paid R4500 a month - an income that includes funding transport costs, food and living expenses. 

Workers affiliated to the mining and construction union, AMCU have marched on the Department of Mineral Resources to hand over a memorandum of demands. 

The demonstration forms part of AMCU's nationwide campaign against job losses in the mining industry and other socio-economic issues.
