AMCU members march in Durban against job cuts
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Workers have been making their way through the streets of Durban - calling for government to help put an end to mass job losses.
They also want workers to be treated better.
Speaking to Newswatch, one worker said he's getting paid R4500 a month - an income that includes funding transport costs, food and living expenses.
Workers affiliated to the mining and construction union, AMCU have marched on the Department of Mineral Resources to hand over a memorandum of demands.
The demonstration forms part of AMCU's nationwide campaign against job losses in the mining industry and other socio-economic issues.
