SA Rugby and Allister Coetzee part ways
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Allister Coetzee has vacated his position as Springbok coach.
SA Rugby released a statement a short while ago, confirming that it had reached an agreement with Coetzee to part ways with immediate effect.
The Rugby Department of SA Rugby will manage the responsibilities of the Springbok coach until the national team's coaching and management group for 2018 is confirmed later this month.
Coetzee was the national coach for two years, with the team only winning 11 out of 25 Tests.
"Today, South African Rugby and Allister decided to terminate their relationship. We had to look out for the best interest of Springbok rugby. We would like to thank Allister for his passion and dedication shown towards the Sprinboks and the Springbok brand. We wish him all of the best for his future endeavours," SA Rugby CEO Jurie Roux said.
Coetzee says he has always and will always continue to hold the Springboks close to his heart.
He wished the national rugby team every success in the future.
