Alliance vows action against Clairwood development
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya

Capital Property Fund bought the racecourse.
Desmond D'sa of the South Durban Community Environmental Alliance says the park will accommodate around 2000 trucks, which will compound the pollution problems in the area.
D'sa says they have submitted an appeal of the decision to allow the development to KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Environmental Affairs Mike Mabuyakhulu as well as the developers.
"Any decision that is going to go against the community will be taken on review to the high court in Durban. If need be, we will blockade the M4 to bring our message across to government that we can't accept 2000 more heavy duty trucks placed at the Clairwood Race Course that will pose a significant risk to the children of south Durban that attend schools in the area," he said.
The department has told Newswatch it is not at liberty to comment as the matter is on appeal.
