Alleged Umbilo drug dealer due in court
A 30-year-old man is due to appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court today after being arrested on drug-related charges in Umbilo.
He was nabbed on Wednesday for allegedly being in possession of cocaine with an estimated street value of more than R7 000.
Officers say members of the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics team had been patrolling in Umbilo when they followed up on information and searched a house in the area.
Provincial Commissioner, Lt Mmamonnye Ngobeni praised the police for the arrest.
''We will continue targeting those suspected drug dealers and arrest them if found with drugs. We also appeal to the community to work with the police in getting rid of drugs in our society,'' she said.
