No truth to alleged school 'gang rape': Kwadukuza police
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
The KZN Department of Education has dismissed claims of an alleged rape on Monday at a high school in KwaDukuza.

Reports of the incident - in which a pupil from Glenhills Secondary School was allegedly 'gang raped' by five learners on school premises - began making the rounds on social media earlier this week.
However, the department's Kwazi Mthethwa says investigations have determined that the allegations were fabricated.
Mthethwa says department officials, the school governing body and the principal had a meeting today.
"That was just a rumour, so we are relying on our authorities - and we can confirm that there is no rape case that has been opened," he said.

The police's Nqobile Gwala says the matter was brought to the KwaDukuza Police Station.
"According to the Kwadukuza SAPS unit, the alleged victim came to the police station to report an alleged rape incident. She was taken to hospital for medical attention, and it was discovered she was not raped - then no case was opened," she said.
